Len Wiseman to Direct Underworld 3D?

The Underworld franchise is a bit of an anomaly. Usually the longer a franchise runs, the worse the films get. In the case of Underworld it's just the opposite. With a fourth version coming at us in 3D, there's been a lot of speculation as to what will happen. A sequel to the prequel? A sequel to the sequel? Finally a few details have emerged.
According to Variety Len Wiseman will be back in the director's chair, but will the lovely Kate Beckinsale be back as well? According to Bloody Disgusting Kate is "trying to find a way out of the film -- or at least have a smaller role in order to 'pass the torch'."
Guess we'll find out soon enough as the film is being pushed to be in theaters on January 21, 2011. That means production's about to gear up in a hurry! More as we get it.

I want to be excited for this. I thought the first two were GREAT, while the last was just ok. Thought it could have been better. We'll see what develops. I'm hopeful!! I'm curious though as to where they would take this storyline.

I don't think I could handle Kate in 3D so, perhaps its for the best.
