After a successful run at 2011’s Screamfest LA, Epic Pictures Group has acquired the foreign sales rights to Australian thriller Crawl, which it will debut at the Cannes Film Festival later this month. The film will launch under the Blood Disgusting Selects banner here in the States.

Georgina Haig, George Shevtsov, and Paul Holmes star. Paul China wrote and directed the feature with his twin brother, Benjamin China, and Brian Breheny handled the producing duties.

Synopsis
Crawl is a character-driven thriller set in an unknown, rural town. A seedy bar owner hires a mysterious Croatian to murder an acquaintance over an unpaid debt. The crime is carried out, but a planned double-crossing backfires, and an innocent waitress suddenly becomes involved. Now a hostage in her own home, the young woman is driven to desperate measures for survival. A suspenseful, yet darkly humorous chain of events builds to a blood-curdling and unforgettable climax.

IT: Chapter 2 Gets New Creative Team Behind the Scenes

Published

on

Looks like director Andy Muschietti is shaking things up behind the scenes of IT: Chapter 2 and replacing the original film’s production designer and cinematographer.

Yes, Collider reports that Oscar-winning The Shape of Water production designer Paul Austerberry will join the sequel team, after Claude Paré (X-Men: Dark Phoenix) served as production designer on the first movie.

Also, Checco Varese (The Strain, Hulu’s Locke & Key) will be the new film’s cinematographer, taking over for the original flick’s DP Chung-hoon Chung (The Handmaiden, Oldboy).

All of this makes sense as the new film is set to take on a different feel when compared to the original’s which was more about the magic of childhood. The sequel (like the book) should feel scarier and darker and overall more, you know, adult.

Are you excited for this new creative team behind the scenes? Make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

Production on the sequel begins this July with Jessica Chastain onboard to play Beverly, and Bill Hader and James McAvoy playing Richie and Bill. It hits theaters September 6, 2019.

Synopsis:

A group of young faces their biggest fears when they seek answers to the disappearance of children in their hometown of Derry, Maine. They square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.

Synopsis:

Catching a criminal often requires the authorities to get inside the villain’s mind to figure out how he thinks. That’s the job of FBI agents Holden Ford and Bill Tench. They attempt to understand and catch serial killers by studying their damaged psyches. Along the way, the agents pioneer the development of modern serial-killer profiling. The crime drama has a strong pedigree behind the camera, with Oscar-nominated director David Fincher and Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron among the show’s executive producers.
