Summit Ready for Some Conjuring
In the last several decades films based upon real life hauntings have done a lot to both capture the imagination and scare the hell out of movie-going audiences! In fact everyone seems to be scrambling to find the next fact-based shocker to tingle the old spine, most recently Summit Entertainment.
Variety reports that Summit Entertainment paid a cool six figures for Conjuring, a thriller pitch from sibling scribes Chad and Carey Hayes (Whiteout), who will pen the script.
The events of the film will focus on the trails and tribulations of Rhode Island's Perron family, who during their supernatural ordeal experienced all manner of ghostly encounters served straight with a demonic possession chaser.
Peter Safran will produce via his Safran Co. banner along with Tony DeRosa-Grund, who will produce via the Evergreen Media banner.
Specific plot points are being kept under wraps, but you can expect to hear more about this one very soon.
