In the spring of each year the Paley Center for Media puts on PaleyFest, a nearly two-week long celebration of the best and brightest TV shows currently on the air, and while the 2012 edition is light on horror, we do have some good news for fans of “The Vampire Diaries”.
PaleyFest has partnered with Hulu to stream content from 9 of the 13 panels being held this year, and “The Vampire Diaries” is one of them. (So are “Community”, “Once Upon a Time”, “New Girl”, “The Office”, “Bones”, “Castle”, “Revenge”, and “Modern Family” just in case you’re curious.)
Here’s who’s expected to be there from “TVD”:
Julie Plec, Executive Producer
Nina Dobrev, “Elena Gilbert”
Paul Wesley, “Stefan Salvatore”
Ian Somerhalder, “Damon Salvatore”
Candice Accola, “Caroline Forbes”
Matthew Davis, “Alaric Saltzman”
Moderator: Debra Birnbaum, TV Guide Magazine
Unfortunately, the only other pure horror entry, “American Horror Story”, isn’t part of the deal (nor are “Mad Men”, “Two and a Half Men”, or “Sons or Anarchy”), but we’re hoping to have someone there reporting in all the latest “AHS” news as it happens.
The streamed content, which will include both full-length and short-form clips, will become available exclusively on Hulu and Hulu Plus beginning March 15th, one day after the festival ends.
“We are delighted to enter this new era for PaleyFest with Hulu as our partner,” noted Paley Center President and CEO Pat Mitchell. “It’s exciting to know that audiences throughout the United States will now be able to join the community of PaleyFest fans as they experience the festival on demand, whenever and wherever they want. Hulu’s partnership allows us to continue to expand PaleyFest as a key facet of our overall mission to interpret, celebrate, preserve, and archive television’s best.”
