Shiloh Fernandez to Fall Victim to The Evil Dead

The remake of the 1981 Sam Raimi classic The Evil Dead is still searching for its leading lady but in the interim has picked up a new cast member. Read on for the 411.

According to Variety, Red Riding Hood star Shiloh Fernandez is venturing back into the woods to appear in FilmDistrict and Mandate’s Evil Dead reboot.

Fede Alvarez directs the redo from his own screenplay co-written with Rodo Sayagues. Revisions were done by Oscar-winning writer Diablo Cody. In this version the story centers on five friends (David, Natalie, Eric, Olivia, and Mia) holed up at a remote cabin where they discover a Book of the Dead with a demonic force unleashed, possessing each until only one is left to fight for survival.

FilmDistrict’s reboot is aiming for release on April 12th, 2013.
