It’s tough telling just how horror related a project is from a brief one- or two-line description, but as usual we’re opting to bring you guys the first word on two new pilot orders ABC has given and then work out the details once more info is available.
Out of four new ABC pilots announced today on Deadline, two sound horror-ish, and they are as follows:
(1) Michael Green’s “Gotham”, from 20th Century Fox TV, centers on a female cop who, after pursuing a seemingly unsolvable case, discovers a magical world that exists within New York City. (Um, don’t we already have pretty much this same storyline in “Grimm”?) Green is executive producing with his manager, 3 Arts’ Erwin Stoff. This is the second pilot with magical elements ordered by ABC this season following the success its of fairy tale drama series “Once Upon a Time”. As reported previously, the network has a “Beauty and the Beast” reboot under way as well (as does The CW).
(2) “Zero Hour”, written and executive produced by Paul Scheuring, is through ABC Studios. Lorenzo DiBonaventura and Dan McDermott are also attached to executive produce. A bizarre twist of fate pulls a man who’s spent 20 years as the editor of a skeptics magazine into one of the most compelling conspiracies in human history.
