Isn’t it funny how the murder rate in Canada is so miniscule, but the number of hunting accidents are through the roof? Maybe those Canucks are on to something. Need someone taken care of, let’s go moose hunting and then…whoops! Hey if it’s good enough for Dick Cheney to try, it’s good enough for me. And the filmmakers behind the upcoming picture Hunting Season tapped right into that train of thought.

Written and directed by Will Bowes and starring Carleigh Beverly, Shannon Kook, Will Bowes, Mairin Piccinin, Candice Mausner with Geoffrey Bowes and Mike Kirby, Hunting Season is the story of the events that occur when a hunting trip and a separate camping excursion suddenly collide, with tragic results. The slick looking trailer is below, and you can get more info from the Hunting Season website or the Hunting Season Facebook page.

Synopsis
Five friends must fight for survival, salvation and sanity when a local hunter mistakenly kills one of them in barren Canadian wilderness. Hunting Season tells the story of a lost generation, both literally and existentially. Meet a generation so steeped in media, technology and general ignorance that when forced into the wild, in need of employing basic, primal instincts – these animals fall short. In an era where friendship itself has been redefined as a superficial, disposable commodity, the younger generations don’t stand a fighting chance.
