Man, the dead sure can be chatty. The last time we checked in with the major motion picture adaptation of Hasbro’s Ouija, the board spelled out S-H-I-T-C-A-N-N-E-D. Now, however, the planchette is moving once again.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hasbro drew a comparison to Walt Disney’s recent decision to restructure the budget for The Lone Ranger. That is “the same process we have gone through on the Ouija brand,” although at a lower level of spending, said Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner, adding that the script is in good shape and is being polished now, meaning that the film could be back with a studio shortly.
Now if only they’d embrace the true horror route the story is crying for instead of waving their Jumanji flag back and forth like a bunch of excited dollar-sign-seeing imbeciles.
