Exclusive Video Interviews: Dread Central’s Jurassic Park Ultimate Trilogy Blu-ray Press Day Coverage

Ever since the Blu-ray format was introduced to the masses back in 2006, there is one series of films that has remained the “holy grail” of desired high definition releases: the Jurassic Park trilogy.

Even though it’s been almost 20 years since the release of Academy Award-winning filmmaker Steven Spielberg’s original Jurassic Park, the success of both the original and its sequels continues to be unrivaled in terms of influence and box office receipts, with the first film remaining the very standard of a true cinematic experience on every level.

Finally, Universal Studios is set to unleash the Blu-ray box set that we’ve all been patiently waiting for: the Jurassic Park Ultimate Trilogy, featuring all three films supplemented with a vast array of bonus features that should no doubt prove to be worth the long wait for fans of the trilogy everywhere (click here for more details).

In celebration of the October 25th release of the Jurassic Park Ultimate Trilogy Blu-ray box set, Dread Central was recently invited to participate in a press day celebrating the world of Jurassic Park, where we sat down with actress Ariana Richards, who plays Lex Murphy in Jurassic Park and during a brief cameo in Jurassic Park II. The actress (who now paints professionally- see some of her work at GalleryAriana.com) chatted with DC regarding her Jurassic Park experiences and being someone who seemed to specialize in creature features during her time in Hollywood. We also managed to talk with Richards about another favorite around these parts: Tremors.

DC also had the privilege of sitting down and chatting with three of the leading special effects professionals in the world during the Jurassic Park Ultimate Trilogy junket- Dennis Muren, Phil Tippett, and John Rosengrant, who chatted us up about their various experiences while working on the Jurassic Park films and how the original changed both their own lives and the industry as a whole forever.
