Scream Factory Details Upcoming Behind the Mask Release

Published

Leslie Vernon. We’ve so been wanting a sequel to his exploits in Behind the Mask: The Rise and Fall of Leslie Vernon. Is one coming? Lord, we hope so, but in the interim we’ve got the skinny on Scream Factory’s upcoming Collector’s Edition.

Directed by Scott Glosserman, Behind the Mask: The Rise and Fall of Leslie Vernon stars Nathan Baesel, Angela Goethals, Zelda Rubinstein, and Robert Englund. Look for it on DVD and Blu-ray this coming March 27th.

Nathan Baesel (Invasion) stars as Vernon, a good-natured killing machine who invites a documentary film crew to follow him as he reminisces with his murder mentor (Scott Wilson, “The Walking Dead”), evades his psychiatrist/nemesis (Robert Englund, A Nightmare on Elm Street), deconstructs Freudian symbolism, and meticulously plots his upcoming slaughter spree. But when the actual carnage begins, where do you draw the line between voyeuristic thrills, mythic evil, and good old-fashioned slasher movie mayhem? Angela Goethals (“24”) and Zelda Rubinstein (Poltergeist) co-star in this ingeniously twisted and award-winning shocker.

Special Features:

  • NEW – HD master from the 2K intermediate
  • NEW – Joys and Curses – interviews with actors Angela Goethals and Ben Pace and co-writer/co-producer David Stieve
  • NEW – Before the Mask: The Comic Book – an interview with comic book artist Nathan Thomas Milliner
  • Audio commentary with co-writer/director Scott Glosserman, moderated by filmmakers Adam Green and Joe Lynch
  • Audio commentary with Nathan Baesel, Angela Goethals, Britain Spelling, and Ben Pace

Bruce Campbell Gives New EVIL DEAD Films His Blessing

Published

on

As we all know by this point, not only has Ash vs Evil Dead been canceled by Starz, but star Bruce Campbell has officially retired as Ash. But what does he think of the Evil Dead films continuing on without him?

Well, a fan over on Twitter just asked Bruce that very question and Campbell responded: “Not that they need it, but of course. Lots of unexplored stories and crossovers in the Evil Dead universe.”

You can check out his tweet below, which basically gives all the “okay” needed for Jane Levy to return as Mia for more Deadite action should the opportunity arise. Hoo-ray!

Are you happy to know Bruce is cool with the series continuing on despite is absence? Make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

Hopefully, we’ll hear more news on a possible sequel to Fede Alvarez’s remake aka Evil Dead 2 in the near future. Until then, stay tuned!
