After his vision of Godzilla many fans agreed with that headline. Still, we’re not talking about that nor do we wish Emmerich would rot in the fiery pit of Hades. What we have here is a new flick he has executive produced called Hell (aka Bright) about … you guessed it, the end of the world.

It’s coming to us from director Tim Fehlbaum and opening this September in Germany; look for more on this flick soon. In the interim check out the first clip (sorry no subtitles), a still, and artwork below.

Synopsis
It was once the source of life, light and warmth. But now the sun has turned the entire world into a baked and barren wasteland. Forests are scorched. Animal carcasses line the roads. Even the nights are dazzlingly bright.

Maria, her little sister Leonie and Phillip are heading for the mountains in a car with tinted glass. Rumor has it water can still be found there. It is a hazardous trip to nowhere. Along the way, they run into Tom. He turns out to be a first-rate mechanic and becomes indispensable. But can they trust him? The tension grows. As if things weren’t bad enough, they are lured into an ambush and their real battle for survival begins…

You're such an inspiration for the ways that I will never, ever choose to be.

  • LSD Zombie

Damn! I was hoping Emmerich was actually filming a movie about demons bringing about the end of the world. Imagine Harrelson’s character from 2012 coming back, only to be eaten alive by a horde of demons!

  • Preach

Sorry to take a dump on the articles intro, but the title doesn’t refer to “Hell”. It’s simply the german word for “bright”

Thanks for the translation! Updated the story to reflect the English title.
