For you Southern Californians who are eagerly awaiting the upcoming flick Rise of the Planet of the Apes, 20th Century Fox is holding a special preview event in honor of the film’s upcoming release on July 7th at the California Institute of Technology’s Beckman Auditorium (332 S. Michigan Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91125) at 8:00 pm.

Those in attendance will not only get a sneak peek at some never-before-seen footage from Rise of the Planet of the Apes but will also have the opportunity to see an exciting panel discussion about the creation of the movie, the possibility of enhanced intelligence, the Avatar-style technology used to create the apes featured in the film, and the intense and physical training of the actors went through to prepare for their roles.

On hand for the event will be the film’s director Rupert Wyatt, Clare Richardson of The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International, Dr. Steven R. Quartz of the California Institute of Technology, Joe Letteri of WETA (the digital creators of the non-human primates featured in the movie), and actor Andy Serkis, who stars in the film as lead primate Caesar.

Synopsis
A single act of both compassion and arrogance leads to a war unlike any other — and to the RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. The Oscar-winning visual effects team that brought to life the worlds of Avatar and Lord of the Rings is breaking new ground, creating a CGI ape that delivers a dramatic performance of unprecedented emotion and intelligence and epic battles on which rest the upended destinies of man and primate.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes invades theaters on August 5th. Look for more soon!
