It’s been a while since last we talked about one of the latest fright flicks from producer Guillermo del Toro, Julia’s Eyes (Los ojos de Julia), but lo and behold yet another clip has slipped online. Dig it!

Julia’s Eyes is directed by Guillem Morales, who co-write the screenplay along with Oriol Paulo. It is produced by Rodar’s Joaquin Padro and Mar Targarona and co-financed by Focus Features Intl. Belen Rueda (The Orphanage) and Lluis Homar (Broken Embraces) are starring in the film, which tells the story of a woman slowly going blind as she investigates the mysterious death of her twin sister.

The film is shot from Julia’s POV, so the scare tactics will include panic attacks as her sight fails. Says [producer] Padro, “The thriller’s an excuse to talk about a woman who overcomes her limitations; it’s a journey of self-discovery.”

Check out the new clip courtesy of Empire Online below.

“The scene shows Julia (The Orphanage’s Belén Rueda) grappling with the mysterious death of her twin sister Sara (also Belén Rueda), when all kinds of sinister carry-ons start to take place. Sara’s death looked like suicide but Julia believes darker forces at a play, and it seems like she might be right. Well, that light didn’t turn itself off”

Synopsis
Julia returns to Bellevue with her husband to visit her sister Sarah, who is near blind due to a degenerative illness for which she has unsuccessfully undergone surgery. When they arrive, Julia finds that Sarah has taken her own life and none of her mysterious neighbors seem to be all that surprised. Julia has to confront not only the loss of her sister, but also the loss of all hope halting her own impending blindness, as she suffers from the same illness and would appear to be destined for the same end as her sister.

If it’s Halloween, it’s got to be Saw. Remember that tagline? There was a time, way back when, when Saw films ruled the October roost in terms of theatrical horror entertainment. Then along came Paranormal Activity, and the king was dethroned. But then the supernatural franchise more than ran its course, leaving the door open for another icon to claim the yearly festival of fall frights. Will Jigsaw be able to game his way back into your hearts?

If you missed it in theaters, you’ll be able to make up for that soon as Lionsgate has just announced that the latest film in the Saw franchise, Jigsaw, returns on Digital January 9 and 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray Combo Pack, and DVD on January 23rd.

From directors Michael and Peter Spierig (Daybreakers, Undead) and writers Josh Stolberg and Peter Goldfinger, Jigsaw stars Tobin Bell (Manson Family Vacation, The Firm, the Saw franchise), Laura Vandervoot (TV’s “Smallville” and “V”), Callum Keith Rennie (TV’s “The Man in the High Castle,” “Californication,” Memento), Brittany Allen (It Stains the Sands Red), Matt Passmore (TV’s “The Glades”), and Hannah Emily Anderson (TV’s “Lizzy Borden Took an Ax”).

In the latest terrifying installment of the legendary Saw series, law enforcement find itself chasing the ghost of a man dead for over a decade, embroiled in a diabolical new game that’s only just begun.
