Remember back on April 1st when we did a news story about the possibility of everyone’s favorite lovable Halloween demon Sam from Trick ‘r Treat making a return for more terror? You thought we were joking. Well apparently … we weren’t.

The terror is about to continue (not in a movie sequel form yet)! Thanks to series creator Mike Dougherty, Sam (we know better than to leave him out) and FEARnet, we’ve just been given one hell of a reminder that we are officially halfway to Halloween! Dig on it below!

The incredible Trick ‘r Treat (Blu-ray / DVD review here) is available now on Blu-ray and DVD. Do yourself a favor. If you haven’t seen it, get it NOW. If you have? Fuck it! Watch it again!

A creepy, darkly comic celebration of the scariest night of the year with five tales set on Halloween night: suburban couple learns the lessons of blowing out a jack-o-lantern before midnight; a high school principal moonlights as a serial killer; the quest of a young virgin for that special someone takes a gruesome turn; a group of teens carries out a cruel prank; and a cantankerous old man battles a mischievous trick-or-treating demon.

I still can’t get over the criminal treatment that Trick ‘r Treat received from Warners. Truly one of their greatest mistakes in a looong time. It would have been the perfect late-night film to see with a packed audience on Halloween.

    Stop teasing us!

This is a movie that definitely needs a sequel. Like Hellraiser the first movie suggests all kinds of interesting directions the next could go in.

P.S. Even though it’s more than a little late a sequel to Event Horizon would be welcomed by this fan as well.

    Hell fucking yes.
