Horror fans love to be kept in the know. That’s why we’re here. Still, reporting news lately has begun to feel more like micro-managing. Case in point … reporting on who’s in line for a role before anyone even gets it. Still, gotta roll with the punches or folks will go elsewhere, and we guess it does give you a feel for who said character will be.
In any event, according to Variety the race for the lead roles of Tom and Alice in Seventh Son have officially started to heat up. Actors testing for the role of Tom include Sam Claflin, Caleb Landry-Jones and James Frecheville, while Imogen Poots, Felicity Jones, Alicia Vikander, Gabrielle Wild and Dianna Agron will test for the role of Alice. Neither Legendary nor Warner Bros. would confirm. Alex Pettyfer and Jennifer Lawrence had also shown interest in the project but have since moved on.
Thus far only Jeff Bridges has officially signed on, but Julianne Moore (pictured right) is close. Sergei Bodrov (Nomad, Mongol, Yakuza Girl) is directing from a screenplay by Max Borenstein.
The Seventh Son was formerly known as The Spook’s Apprentice and is part of Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures’ adaptation of Joseph Delaney’s young adult series The Last Apprentice. It is based on the first book in the trilogy, The Wardstone Chronicles.
Production begins September 13th in Vancouver with Legendary Pictures producing. More soon!
