Milo Ventimiglia, StaticThere are few things worse than the loss of a child, though sitting through Sucker Punch totally felt like a close second. Either way, grief can be so powerful, any relief at all is welcome. Even if it’s supernatural in origin.

According to The Wrap “Heroes” star Milo Ventimiglia (pictured right) is joining “The L Word”‘s Sarah Shahi in Static, a low-budget 3D thriller.

Music video director Todd Levin is at the helm, and Sara Paxton (The Last House on the Left) also stars. The flick tells the tale of a young couple, played by Ventimiglia and Shahi, who are on the verge of divorce after losing their child. Their world changes, however, when a young visitor arrives, bringing supernatural implications to the household.

Static is one of the first low-budget features to be shot in full 3D. Levin will use a camera rig designed specifically for the producers and director to hold two Sony PMW-F3 cameras – Sony’s answer to the RED 3D camera – and control costs. The movie’s budget is below $1 million.
