It’s been a few months since we’ve heard anything from artist/writer/actor/all-around great guy Terrance Zdunich, and now we know why. He’s been hard at work on “Allied Forces”, Chapter 6 of his portrait of a dysfunctional American family in the 90’s, The Molting.
Here’s what Terrance told us, “I’m excited to announce that a milestone has been reached! A landmark, erected! A cockroach flag, planted firmly in the dirt! Two years ago I began the ambitious endeavor of independently creating and distributing a 12-part comic book series called THE MOLTING. I’m happy to announce that the halfway mark has now officially been crossed!
‘Allied Forces’, Chapter 6 of the project named ‘Best Horror Series 2010’ (Comic Related), is now available at TheMoltingComic.com. This 64-page, full-color book is the meatiest installment to date with gorgeous artwork and lettering created by Brian Johnson, Oceano Ransford, Molly Rodman, and yours truly.
In celebration of this milestone achievement, Team Molting has also created a COLLECTIBLE BUTTON featuring The Molting’s GUILTY SUSIE. This button is part of a limited edition set, and all proceeds go towards keeping this independent series alive.”
THE MOLTING is the portrait of a dysfunctional American family in the early ‘90’s. Set against a decaying urban landscape in Anaheim, CA, the so-called “Happiest Place On Earth”, the story traverses human history – from Upper Paleolithic hunting parties to Southern Gothic grotesqueries – to explore the family’s roots, secrets, and unconventional bonds.
In Chapter 6, “Allied Forces”, Trevor and Joseph attempt their biggest caper yet, alliances are tested, and the arrival of mail forces the Pryzkind family to choose sides.
Check out the cover art and one panel from “Allied Forces” below. Zdunich is self-distributing The Molting‘s 12-chapter series, and currently issues are on sale exclusively via TerranceZdunich.com and The Molting’s official site.
