Another year has come and gone, and you know what that means: Time for the 9th annual Rondo Hatton Awards! Once again, Dread Central is beyond honored to be nominated for Best Website. Read on for how you can vote for your favorites.
The Rondos, now in their ninth year, are fandom’s only classic horror award, decided by fans, for fans, and dedicated to preserving the undying spirit of monsters past. With 30 categories (including several new ones) ranging from Best Movie of 2010, Best Television Presentation, Best Classic DVD and DVD Collection, Best Restoration, Best Commentary, Best DVD Extra, Best Independent Film or Documentary, Best Short Film, Book of the Year, Best Magazine of 2010, Best Article, Best Interview, Best Magazine Cover, Best Website, Best Blog of 2010, Best Convention of 2010, Best Fan Event of 2010, Favorite Horror Host of 2010, Best Horror Comic, Best Horror Audio, Best Soundtrack or Horror CD, Best Toy/Model/Collectible, Classic Most in Need of Restoration, Writer of the Year, Artist of the Year (Pro and Fan categories), DVD Reviewer of the Year, ‘Monster Kid’ of the Year, and ‘Monster Kid’ Hall of Fame, the Rondos are all-encompassing and well deserving of the attention and respect they receive.
Every Rondo nominee is being recognized for a significant achievement in the genre during the year of 2010. So please take a look at the ballot and let the nominees know how much we appreciate their work by voting.
HOW TO VOTE:
— All voting is by e-mail only.
— Simply copy the full ballot found here and send an e-mail with your picks to taraco@aol.com by midnight, March 27, 2011.
— Winners will be announced Monday night, March 28, 2011.
— One vote per person, please.
— Every e-mail must include your name to be counted. All votes are kept strictly confidential. No e-mail addresses or any personal information will ever be shared with anyone.
— Important: Feel free to spread the word about Rondo. But please remember that organized voting campaigns (duplicated ballots, mass e-mailing efforts, getting strangers to vote) are prohibited and can result in a warning and even disqualification. Let’s keep this a fun vote of monster fans.
— And no, you do not have to vote in every category.
This year’s awards are dedicated to the memory of Gloria Stuart, Ingrid Pitt, and Verne Langdon. Be sure to join in and cast your votes!
