Having seen the tepid Clash of the Titans remake for the first and only time a few months ago, I am reaching to recall anything about it. I realize I’m hardly alone in my lukewarm response to the big-budget mediocrity that Warner Bros. served up, but that’s not stopping the studio from trying again.
As previously reported, Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures are prepping Wrath of the Titans, and former Bond girl Rosamund Pike is in talks to replace Alexa Davalos as Andromeda, according to Variety. No word yet as to whether or not she has accepted the part, however.
Jonathan Liebesman (Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning) will direct the sequel, which returns everyone’s favorite cardboard cutout (no, not Channing Tatum), Sam Worthington, to the role of Perseus. One of the few positives is that, unlike its predecessor, this sequel will film in 3D instead of suffering a hasty post-production hatchet job conversion. Will that be enough to make a sequel worth checking out? Probably not, but expect lots and lots of promises about how this sucker will right all the wrongs laid out in the first movie. I still haven’t forgiven the bastards for what they did to Bubo.
