And now for something a bit different … indie filmmaker Sonny Fernandez, who’s currently shooting the (as he describes it) “crazy super-bloody zombie movie” Highway 91, sent over a video montage featuring clips from the film backed up by the first official song from the soundtrack.

What happened was Fernandez’s friend Topher, who does much of the music for his flicks, and his other pal Sky grabbed a guitar and decided to play a song. Fernandez says, “They didn’t even take off their zombie make-up. The song came out so good, I decided to make it an official song on the Highway 91 soundtrack, and I took that performance and made it into a music video featuring clips!”

For a look at the director’s earlier work, check out Bleed, which has finally been released on a 2-disc special edition remastered DVD that includes commentary from Fernandez as well as stars Cody Tergesen, Justin Kavlie, Jared Eamon, Matt Hagel and Alex Radi; a blooper reel, deleted scenes, and a making-of feature.
