Found footage films continue to find their niche within the genre, and we’re totally cool with that as long as they’re good. According to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision Blog, Spanish-language director Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego has stepped in to replace Trevor Cawood as the helmer of The Weinstein Co.’s sci-fi “found footage” project Apollo 18.
Expect a theatrical release for Apollo 18, the sci-fi thriller based on the screenplay by Brian Miller, winner of the inaugural Astana International Action Film Festival screenplay competition, founded by Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov, on March 4th, 2011.
