Get Ready to Scream for a New Documentary

Born in the 1990’s, Wes Craven’s Scream franchise has become a horror staple. Just in time for the fourth film in the series to come our way, a new documentary has been cooking steadily to take us behind-the-scenes and outline what all the screaming is about!

According to Bloody Disgusting Anthony Masi, the man who brought us His Name Was Jason and the upcoming Hellraiser documentary, and Ryan Turek have been hard at work since March to deliver fans a definitive look at the Scream franchise.

This documentary will include rare archival footage, never-before-seen photos, new on-set stories, and will reveal the entire success of Scream from its inception right up to the new movie,” Masi tells BD.

Look for the doc’s release to coincide with Scream 4, in theaters April 15. Turek, also known as Ryan Rotten, editor-in-chief of Shock Till You Drop, wrote and directed both the Hellraiser and Scream docs.

  1. Damnit there doing a Doc on the fucking Scream Movies! why isn’t there one on Tales From the Crypt TV Show Or Texas Chainsaw Massacre Films or Phantasm films or Child’s Play Films or even The Re-Animator films? WHY!

    • Good thought, I’d love a Chucky retrospective maybe hosted by Chucky himself as he interviews the people involved in his creation (and then hacks them to pieces when done).

  2. Idk if Scream reeeeeally needs a documentary. I mean… there’s only 3 movies. With Friday and Nightmare, there’s a lot more they can do. I guess they can stretch it out to a full documentary, and I suppose they can go more in depth, but it just feels… forced.

  3. It’s kind of funny how most of the people in that pic up there don’t have a career anymore. Interesting info.

“We are bad guys. That means we’ve got more to do other than bullying companies. It’s fun to lead a bad man’s life.”

    • LOL. I can only name two of those pictured. Henry Wrinkler, and the dude from 13 Ghosts. Ok, I can only “name” one then haha.

I have to return some video tapes.

      • The dude from 13ghost is Matthew Lillard, and his carrer is actually still an okay one after the scream movies, just not so much in horror movies

  4. Just how much more behind the scenes and never before seen stuff can they have left to put in to this Documentry that we wasn’t given with the Box Set that came with the behind the scene’s 4th disc?
