Final Batch of Videos from The Walking Dead Worldwide Zombie Invasion

“The Walking Dead” worldwide zombie invasion has come to an end, and as promised, we have a few more videos and some photos of the rest of the infected cities. Today we travel from Belgrade to Caracas, Guatemala City to Washington, DC, with multiple stops along the way.

The international broadcaster of “The Walking Dead”, Fox International Channels (FIC), kicked off the stunts with overseas invasions beginning at daybreak on Tuesday, October 26, culminating at the show’s Los Angeles premiere. A week prior to the unprecedented global premiere of the show, AMC and FIC targeted one-day multi-city events that occurred during morning commute peak hours. Taking direction from “The Walking Dead”’s legendary make-up artist Greg Nicotero, hundreds of zombies consecutively took over major cities worldwide during a 24-hour period. The global outbreaks centered in and around the world’s major landmarks, which should be fairly recognizable in the below videos.

For whatever reason, video was unavailable from Lisbon, Portugal, but here are a few photos showing some zombies interacting with the locals (the undead windshield washer in particular cracked us up):

“The Walking Dead” tells the story of life following a zombie apocalypse. It follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, traveling in search of a safe and secure home. Andrew Lincoln (Love Actually, Teachers, Strike Back) portrays the lead role of Rick Grimes while actor Jon Bernthal (The Pacific, The Ghost Writer) portrays the character Shane, who worked with Rick in the police department before the zombie disaster. Other cast members include Laurie Holden (“The Shield”), who plays Andrea, one of two sisters who join the survivors of the zombie plague, Steven Yeun as Glenn, an expert scavenger, and Sarah Wayne Callies (“Prison Break”), who plays Rick’s wife, Lori.

Frank Darabont is the project’s writer, director of the pilot, and exec producer with Gale Anne Hurd and David Alpert also exec producing. KNB is handling the effects.
