Kids today, I tell ya! You just can’t trust them. Sure they look all innocent at first, but turn your back for just one second and – wham – your house is on fire, your friends are dropping like flies, and you end up scarred for life! Ah, to be a teenager again!
Cousin Sarah is a new indie feature coming from director Ian Christian Blanche, and it’s already sporting a hefty cast — Leah Pipes (pictured right; Sorority Row, The Deep End), Jason Mewes (Jay and Silent Bob), Teri McMinn (the original The Texas Chain Saw Massacre), John Savage (Deer Hunter, The Crossing Guard), and in negotiations is actress Haley Duff (Material Girls).
The screenplay tells the tale of “a teenage girl named Crystal who has just graduated from high school in a small town community in Southern California. She realizes that she will be breaking up with her high school sweetheart Jake, who will be moving to the East Coast in the fall. Her older cousin, Sarah, who has become the post-hippie poster child, arrives in town and tries to find a way into Crystal’s circle of friends. After several creepy events and disturbing dreams of burning houses, Crystal begins to wonder if there is something sinister in Sarah’s background.”
Filming will begin in fall of 2010 at the Universal Studios backlot. Look for more soon.
