Date Set for The Walking Dead?

I’m not sure if it’s even possible to be more psyched for a single TV show than we are for Frank Darabont’s vision of the Robert Kirkman zombie epic “The Walking Dead”. We’re counting down the days until October like giddy kids counting ’em down until Christmas. Now it looks like we have a target date in sight.

Bloody Disgusting is reporting that an unconfirmed source has told them that the show will be debuting on October 8th. We have feelers and e-mails out and will hopefully be confirming this soon. Stay tuned.

“The Walking Dead” is based on Robert Kirkman’s popular comic series. It chronicles the months and years following a zombie apocalypse. Frank Darabont is the project’s writer, director of the pilot, and exec producer with Gale Anne Hurd and David Alpert also exec producing. KNB will be handling the effects, and Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Jeffrey DeMunn, IronE Singleton, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden, Chandler Riggs, Steven Yeun, Michael Rooker, Emma Bell, Adrian Kali Turner, Linds Edwards, Keith Allen Hayes, and Jim Coleman are all set to star.

You're such an inspiration for the ways that I will never, ever choose to be.

This would be an odd choice…

AMC’s other three original series have all been on Sundays and with Mad Men and Rubicon both ending their seasons on October 17th, I would think the most likely premiere date would be the 24th, which puts it smack dab in Halloween season, and in the first weekend of this year’s Fearfest.

Could be that they’re going to sneak-peek it the way they did with Rubicon’s pilot though.

Oh well, it could air on Monday mornings at 5:22 and I’d be there, giddy as a schoolgirl to see it.
