To win, just hit us off with an E-MAIL HERE that includes your FULL NAME AND MAILING ADDRESS. We’ll handle the heavy lifting!

Pretty cool, yeah? Get to e-mailing, but before you go, here’s a quick note from director Tim Sullivan:

”So much of my success as a filmmaker, and especially the success of the Maniacs franchise, has come from the love and support of the fans of the genre and the genre community. Without you guys there would be no 2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams. The movie was a true community effort — it was made by fans, the music was contributed by fans, and for me it is super important that the film’s premiere be for the fans and most importantly attended by the fans.

When talking about the premiere, I decided that I wanted to create something that if I were a lover of the Maniacs franchise would be THE premiere that I wanted to go to and, more importantly, be able to go to. Having said that, we are creating an event that for a mere $11.00, less than the cost of seeing a 3D movie, if you’re in the LA area, you’ll get to attend the premiere of 2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams with the cast and other celebrity guests that we’re going to announce along the way. You wouldn’t believe some of the people who have said they are coming. This is without question going to be a star-studded premiere that anyone can buy tickets to, and then even get to attend the after party of at no additional cost! Usually premieres like this are set up for the executives who get to go for free when they easily can afford a hundred dollar ticket while the real fans wait outside trying to get in. Not here. No way.

Again, this is the premiere for the fans, to be attended by them, the filmmakers, the stars, horror icons, and even rock and roll icons — all to be announced. I cannot tell you how happy I am to be doing this side-by-side with Dread Central. For me Dread Central sums up some of the best in the horror press because they are amazing cheerleaders of the genre. I am so excited to have them sponsoring and presenting this event. It’s gonna be one HELL of a barbecue! So everybody better get ready to party with the maniacs all night long!

Shock N Roll,

Tim”

Dread Central’s own Sean Decker will be hosting the festivities! See you there and GOOD LUCK!

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost Are Truth Seekers Playing by Slaughterhouse Rulez

Published

on

One of our favorite pairings of stars from the last twenty years is no doubt that of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Their chemistry is undeniable, and if you didn’t get enough of it in “Spaced,” Shawn of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, The World’s End, and Paul, you’re about to get a bellyful of it on both big and small screens.

Variety is reporting that Frost and Pegg will be starring in “Truth Seekers,” a half-hour comedy-horror TV show about a three-person paranormal investigation team.

According to the site, each installment of “Truth Seekers” will focus on a paranormal incident, a setup with clear monster-of-the-week potential. “Each episode is going to be an adventure, a potential haunting or something,” Pegg says. “It’ll start as a very parochial idea, a very small business venture for these people, but it will expand as the series goes on to be something far more global. It’s a language everyone understands, the mystery of the unknown. Shaun of the Dead was a very parochial story set in North London, and somehow it managed to get this global reach because everyone understands the language of zombie movies.

That’s not all, though… the pair are also working on the feature film Slaughterhouse Rulez, a horror-comedy now in post-production. Directed by Crispian Mills and set in a well-to-do public school, the movie is “very satirical, very much about the U.K. selling itself off,” Pegg says. “It’s about fracking as well, and that unleashes some awful subterranean demon.

Both of these projects will be released under their Stolen Picture shingle. Stay tuned, kids! More as we get it!
