Any day that we get to report on Frank Darabont’s small screen adaptation of the Robert Kirkman zombie epic The Walking Dead is a good one. Hearing from the man himself is all the more sweeter!

The guys over at Ain’t it Cool News recently sat down with creator Robert Kirkman for an interview wherein he revealed that he’ll be writing the fourth and sixth episodes of the series, which means he’ll be responsible for penning the final episode that should lead into the next season.

“Everyone on the show is just assuming that it’s going to get a second season. We are all pretty optimistic because we know how good the show’s going to be,” Kirkman tells the site. Hit up the above linkage for more.

Jon Bernthal, Andrew Lincoln, Jeffrey DeMunn, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden, and Steven Yeun all star in this project, which is set among a group of survivors of a zombie apocalypse who are led by a police officer, Rick Grimes, in search of a safe place to live.
