Syfy Offers First Sneak Peek at Mega Piranha

Funny that The Asylum has yet to release an official trailer for Mega Piranha, but Syfy has posted a sneak preview video clip as they begin promoting the film for its April 10th premiere. If this is a taste of things to come, I think it is safe to say that the movie is going to be quite the schlocktacular spectacle.

I have a lighthearted interview with Mega Piranha writer-director Eric Forsberg that will posted later this week. He has told me that the official trailer should be going live any moment now. This wild piranha-kicking scene from the flick Syfy has put up will have to suffice for the moment.

Between the carnivorous oversized piranhas and Tiffany’s scenery chewing, looks like everything’s getting devoured one way or another in Mega Piranha.

  1. Please, someone with the computer smarts dub in Lui Kang’s bicycle kick yell over that scene. That is EPIC.

  2. Are you kidding me? It’s just another shitty Asylum movie. Terrible special effects, terrible acting and no originality. I wish that company would go out of business already. Or at the very least make an original movie.

  3. I love how so much happens in such a short space of time, yet the lead guy is acting like nothing much has really been happening -terrible, but in a cheesy ham-fisted good sort of way :)

  4. Holy crap. I swear, when the one guy was kicking the piranha , I half expected to see killer tomatoes start flying at him from off screen. And don’t even get me started on the ridiculously fake digitized pool of blood that was seen immediately following the one guy getting chomped. Another cheesetacular “mockbuster” crapterpiece courtesy of The Asylum.
You gotta love those guys for having the balls to be so barefaced with their cut and paste rip offs (the irony being that this will still be a better film than Piranha II:The Spawning, which I actually love , but gleefully acknowledge is sheer cinematic cheddar).
