The Thing Prequel: Are These ‘Them Crazy Swedes’?

The Thing Prequel: Are These 'Them Crazy Swedes'?If The Thing prequel is set to showcase anything at all, it has to be the alien-induced slaughter at the Norwegian camp site. Thus far, though, only Americans have been announced in terms of casting. Is it time that we finally get the names of the aforementioned Crazy Swedes?

Shock Till You Drop and Bloody Disgusting report that they’ve been tipped off to the identities of the actors who will fall victim to the shapeshifting creatures …

According to their sources Eric Christian Olsen (Not Another Teen Movie, “Community”), Dennis Storhøi (The 13th Warrior), Trond Espen Seim (The Frost), Jørgen Langhelle (Svik), Stig Henrik Hoff, Jan Gunnar Røise, Kristofer Hivju (Manhunt), and Jo Adrian have joined the already announced Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Joel Edgerton.

While we await official confirmation, at least we know that the filmmakers are heading in the right direction. Look for more on the Matthijs van Heijningen’s prequel really soon as shooting is scheduled to commence up in British Columbia and Toronto shortly.

You're such an inspiration for the ways that I will never, ever choose to be.

Were they Swedes or Norweigans. I’m confused. As long as nobody in the cast speaks English I’ll be happy. They need to go to the country and find unknowns. Guys that are totally rough around the edges.

    • Uncle Creepy

They were Norwegians. MacCready kept calling them “Swedes”. LOL

      • Terminal

I haven’t seen that movie in two years so my memory is still fuzzy. I hope they go with subtitles and not Norwegians who can conveniently speak English.

      • Floydian Trip

So, I guess Terminal wasn’t completely WRONG! I’m Norweigan, sign me up for this shit. I’ll be the guy who smokes alot weed and talks about government conspiracies but is able to figure out what’s going on first. I’d also like to be the first one assimilated, or is that the Borg. Fuck, throw some Borg in their too for some variety. And Captian Picard.

  • Terminal

Well at least they seem to be working toward casting people to play the Swedes. I hope they remain faithful to the story.
