Michael Bartlett Updates Us on The Zombie Diaries 2

A couple of years ago filmmakers Michael Bartlett and Kevin Gates cut a trailer of their film The Zombie Diaries. Soon after we aired it for them, the offers starting coming in for the duo; and before you knew it, the flick found some serious distro both here in the States and abroad. Well, Michael and Kevin are at it again with The Zombie Diaries 2, and we’ve got the official word on what’s cookin’ thus far!

The film is being co-financed by Weinstein and a UK distributor,” Bartlett tells us. “The UK deal is still far from clear due to some sequel options Kevin and I signed with the first film, but once that is resolved, we hope to be able to shoot in the summer.”

“Obviously nothing is guaranteed until that is sorted, but if and when it is, I will let Quiet Earth and you guys at Dread Central know first, as you have been our biggest supporters to date, and we are very grateful for your support,” Michael continues. “I think everyone can guess the budget of the last film – well this time we have a BIG budget to play with, and I promise lots of zombie action.”

“The film follows the military in the UK and how they respond to the aftermaths of the plague, dealing with everything from zombies to bandits on their journey. When I read Kevin’s script, I nearly fell off my chair – it has everything we’ve always wanted to do in a film, and this time we’re not limited by budget restraints.”

Check out the trailer the guys cut specifically for us below (We were in our infancy and didn’t even have our own video hosting service yet! Ah, memories! LOL), and look for more really soon!
