What Are the Eyes in the Dark Staring Back at You?

Few things are creepier than a strange pair of eyes staring back at you in the dark. Filmmaker Bjorn Anderson’s new Cloverfield-inspired indie chiller Eyes in the Dark hopes to mine terror from such a simple conceit as college kids on a weekend getaway in the Washington State Cascade foothills finding something with glowing red peepers that plans to do more than keep an eye on them.

Thanks to Avery and Undead Backbrain for the heads-up on this glowing red-eyed fearfest done in the found footage vein of The Blair Witch Project and Cloverfield. Eyes in the Dark (official site here) purports to be recently uncovered footage discovered in a secret FBI archives where it had been hidden away to keep the horrifying truth from getting out.

A group of college co-eds take a trip to a mountain lodge looking for relaxation, beer, and maybe a dip in the hot tub. But when they stumble on clues about an ancient legend, they quickly find themselves fighting for their lives. Will they be able to escape this unspeakable evil? And are they the only ones who have ever crossed its path?

So what are the terrifying glowing red eyes in the dark staring back at them? Extraterrestrials? Demons? Mothman? Lindsay Lohan after an especially rough evening? Guess we will all have to wait until Eyes in the Dark is ready to reveal itself to the movie-watching world.

    It could be a Hodag.

Nice! Will need to see this one, for sure, since I live the area and enjoy watching stuff with local flavor.

The trailer is creepy as hell! I’m really wanting to see this one too.

  • Terminal

Considering it’s obviously low budget, that’s not a bad poster.

Edit: I saw the trailer and now I really want to see this movie. It looks pretty damn creepy.
