The Thing Star Joel Edgerton Puts Remake or Prequel Argument to RestWe all know that Matthijs van Heijningen’s The Thing is set to begin filming in Vancouver, Canada this month, but there still seems to be an issue about whether this flick is a prequel or a remake for some fearful fans. Joel Edgerton, one of the film’s stars, has finally put all that to bed with his latest statements.

In an interview with What’s Playing Edgerton, who plays Sam Carter, a helicopter pilot who teams with a graduate student named Kate Lloyd (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) to pursue an alien life form, offered the following:

“Anyone who is a big fan of the John Carpenter version of The Thing knows that it starts on the American base station, but the investigation of where the Thing has come from leads us to know something very bad has happened at the Norwegian base station, and the prequel centres itself around there and what happened pre-Kurt Russell”.

Feel better now? That should offer at least some reason to be at ease.
