Leonardo DiCaprio May Soon Join the Prisoners

We’ve been reporting on Brooklyn born writer Aaron Guzikowski’s Prisoners for quite a while now here on Dread Central, and along the way many huge names have been attached including Christian Bale, Bryan Singer, Mark Wahlberg, etc. There’s just one problem — despite the script being hailed as incredibly hot, for one reason or another nobody has officially bitten. Thankfully that very well could change!
Deadline|Hollywood reports today that after coming off of a very successful weekend with Shutter Island, Leornardo DiCaprio could be breathing some very much needed life into the project, but according to Leo that depends upon who’s getting behind the camera!
Look for more on Prisoners hopefully soon because from one Brooklyn boy to another — I’m rooting for it!
Synopsis
“After his 6-year-old daughter and her friend are kidnapped, a small-town carpenter butts heads with a young, brash detective in charge of the investigation. The father is a Bible-reading, deer-hunting survivalist. The cop, meanwhile, can’t wait to get to the city. Feeling failed by the law, the father captures the man he believes responsible and begins to torture him in a desperate attempt to find out what he did with the girls, whom he’s convinced are still alive.”
