Another sad moment for fans of the horror genre and beyond: The great Zelda Rubinstein has passed away at the all too young age of just 76.
The actress, best known as the psychic called in to rid a suburban home of demonic forces in the 1982 horror movie Poltergeist, will be fondly remembered for not only her acting career but the stellar voice work she has done over the years. It’s just plain unmistakable.
According to The LA Times “Rubinstein was hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center about two months ago after suffering a mild heart attack, Eric Stevens, her agent, said. ‘She had ongoing health issues, and unfortunately they finally overtook her.'”
We here at Dread Central would like to take this time to offer our sincerest condolences to Ms. Rubinstein’s friends, family, and constituents. Godspeed.
