So what are you guys doing for Halloween? If you’re in Dallas, I suggest you swing by the Granado Yard Haunt, where I’ll be helping entertain the masses.
Before I was your friendly neighborhood gaming guy, I spent a few Halloweens scaring people for a living. I’ll be spending Saturday night reliving a little bit of those days at the largest yard haunt in Dallas.
The Granado family spend months every year preparing for the Halloween season, adding to their collection of props and building new additions to their display. Michael Granado and his father live next to each other, and the haunt encompasses both yards. Famous horror icons, spooky sound and lighting effects, and this year, for the first time, live actors will dish out creeps and scares to everyone who dares.
Last year the haunt saw around 3,000 souls wander its paths, and this year we expect much more. The best part? It’s all free! The Granados put out a ton of cash every year on the haunt, and they DO accept donations, so if you come out, please drop a few bucks in the box.
The Granado Yard Haunt is located at 1022 N. Beckley in Dallas, TX. Tours of the haunt begin after dark falls, around 8pm.
If you’d like to say hello, I’ll be wearing a Dread Central shirt no matter what exact role I’ll be playing. Stop by, see the sights, and say howdy!
