Dread Central Goes to Sinister Pointe

Last year, Jeff Schiefelbein’s Saw: The Haunted Attraction scared up a lot of business and became recognized as one of Southern California’s biggest and best Halloween mazes. This year, Scheifelbein and his crew have returned to deliver Sinister Pointe – a new attraction with two brand spankin’ new mazes: “Fear”, an original maze of Jeff’s design and “Silent Hill” which throws you right in the middle of Konami’s terrifying game series.

The thing that seperates Sinister Pointe from other haunted attractions is that it’s not a “get-em-in, get-em-out” affair. Attendees are let in two or three at time which makes you the sole target throughout the maze. This makes for a much more intimate scare and if that weren’t enough, there are games that you are forced to play in order to progress through the maze. “People loved SAW’s interactive sections where you had to participate in the traps,” says Schiefelbein, “so we’ve added several more interactive rooms this year.” In between dodging psychotic undead nurses and rednecks with chainsaws, one room forces people to sit down at a bloody’s executioner’s bench and push a button that triggers flying sledgehammers towards your head.

While Schiefelbein doesn’t have the millions of dollars of big theme parks, his mazes are far more creative and scary than what you’d expect. Sinister Pointe runs through the end of October in Brea, CA. For tickets, dates and showtimes, visit www.sinisterpointe.com.

  1. I totally was there last night!! The Silent Hill attraction was cool. It was long, so it was worth the amount you pay. The Fear maze was the best! Completely interactive and got a lot of screams from us. Was lots of fun! I totally recommend! I wish I would have known what night ya’ll was there!
