We heard from writer/director Christopher DiNunzio today that his film Livestock has been picked up for distribution by R-Squared Films with a DVD release date of November 10, 2009.

DiNunzio states that Livestock (review here) plays like “a bizarre drama with the pacing of a Hammer horror film.” Here’s a synopsis:

A mysterious cult has decided to take a new direction in giving Victor, a hard-working, trusted member, a promotion. However, his cruel-minded disciples have decided to take action of their own. Growing tired of their monotonous plans, they begin to take their malevolent acts one step further. In a world seemingly far removed from Victor’s, two young girls, Annabel and Tina, are trying to make changes in their own lives. Annabel prepares for a second date with Jerry, a man she met online, while Tina keeps focused on an important meeting that is sure to open up new doors in her life. Soon these two worlds collide as Annabel and Tina find themselves deep within the belly of the beast, and the long, dark history of a secret organization is revealed.

Along with Livestock, the DVD will contain “Last Bet, Last Mistake”, a bonus short film. Here’s what you can expect there: A lone gunman parked outside an apartment complex is waiting for the right moment. Inside, his target is clueless to the fate that awaits him. The two men started out in the same crime operation, but now business, and jealousy, have ended old ties. The tension builds until there is no way out for either of them.

An audio commentary and trailers round out the package.

If you want to give it a shot on the big screen, you can also look for Livestock at the 2009 Fright Night Film Fest, the 2009 Southern New England Independent Film Festival, and the 2009 San Antonio Horrific Film Festival.
