Halloween II Review! The Final Destination Review! Let’s Get Ready to Rumble!!!!

The day is here. The gloves are off. An epic box office battle the likes of which we’ve never seen is about to ensue. In one corner The Shape. In the other Death. Who’s your money on?

Halloween II Review! The Final Destination Review! Let's Get Ready to Rumble!!!!

There’s no doubt these two cinema titans are going to cause quite a stir this weekend, and it’s going to be really interesting to see which one actually comes out as the box office winner. We’re predicting that it’s either gonna be a blow-out or be devilishly close. Can the promise of gory 3D mayhem hold off legions of Rob Zombie and Halloween fans, or will the Reaper get the unkind cut at cinemas across the country? Our reviews are in and you can read them below, but more importantly we want to hear from you! Sound off in our comments section … good, bad, or ugly!

There’s already news that Halloween 3D is coming out next summer . . . not kidd’n. Here’s the link http://www.dreadcentral.com/news/33260/coming-summer-2010-halloween-3d

Surprisingly enough … (or is it sadly enough?) This was a dead heat for me. I liked each about the same, although I have to give a slight edge to H2 in terms of feeling more like a real movie instead of an eighty-minute gimmick someone keeps shaking in your face.

  • Sirand

Well, that about wraps it up for The Weinstein Company.

  • PelusaMG

Based on the figures so far, it looks like FD4 is kicking Myers’ butt!

  • RobZombieSux

This Was’nt only by far the worst in the Michael Myers franchise, it was also possibly the worst movie I’ve ever seen. Complete waste of time and money. Rob needs to leave movies to real film makers. whats the deal with all the mamas boy crap?? Sheri moon could’nt play dead! He ruined everything great about Halloween!

  • unstoppable

The first Halloween at least tried something different. It has some redeemable qualities. This one was complete crap. A waste of time. Zombie should of stopped at one.

  • Minion

The reviews Unlce Creepy gave were spot on for me. I had fun with FD4 and didn’t expect anything new and just something to kill an hour and a half of time. And ‘David Lynch Does Halloween’ might have been one of the most unintentionally hilarious things I think I’ve ever seen. However, either movies are going to make anyones best five of the year, because over all there’s nothing new in these movies or nothing old done exceptionally well either.

FD4 will wipe the floor with H2 at the box office. Wider demographic and 3D will win everytime.

    • The Woman In Black

I don’t know about wiping the floor, but I think FD4 will have the edge also due to its “fun” factor and of course the bonus of 3D. And I wouldn’t count out the Basterds either to win overall due to its positive word of mouth and the fact that QT has been EVERYWHERE promoting it.

      • Nomad

FD was a waste of time. Nothing new at all, nothing eye popping, special effects on the level of a quality syfy channel movie and zero loose ends tied up for a final installment. I also thought the 3d didn’t work a bunch of times.

        • Foywonder

I never thought I’d say this but… I am in complete agreement with Nomad.

          • theGoldenSimatar

Agree with Foy and Nomad. I told people who were asking me at my theater after they asked “how is final destination” i would say “have you seen one through three? if yes, you’ve seen this one. Only big difference is its in 3D” However i felt the 3D worked and the biggest bonus for me was seeing the teaser for James Cameron’s AVATAR in 3D 🙂

  • theGoldenSimatar

I like HALLOWEEN 2, it was the most different in terms of the narrative as well as the visual context. The narrative was less of the ‘hunt-stalk’ of previous films and more of a spiral storyline and some of the visuals were like ‘grunge surreal-expressionism’. I thought it was a good movie.

  • Didn’t See It Coming

Final D is going to do better this weekend. I don’t know anyone, save for a few misguided souls on here, that is going to see Halloween.

  • Nomad

    Frank is right

  • frank_dracman

It will be Halloween by a landslide. God, I threw up a little typing that…

    • doubleh55

Due to how horribly the first Halloween dropped its second weekend out and how it’s generally disliked while I know a ton of people that love all three Final Destination movies, it’s going to win. Plus they have the added 3D movie prices that will spike the weekend grosses.

Besides, Inglorious Basterds could always just stay on top this weekend as well.

BTW, did they drop all pretenses of there being a “mystery” surrounding the events of Final Destination 1 & 2?
