Will Hollywood Do Right by Godzilla This Time?

This could be major news or it could be no news at all. Bloody-Disgusting is reporting that Legendary Pictures, the production company responsible in part for The Dark Knight and the upcoming remake of Clash of the Titans, may be looking to bring Godzilla back to the big screen and hopefully get it right this time.

There are no further details to this story aside from Bloody-Disgusting stating they’ve learned that Legendary Pictures are in “early discussions” to potentially make a brand new big budget Hollywood Godzilla flick that would have no ties to the 1998 Roland Emmerich cinematic abortion. Whether or not anything will come of this in the future or it goes the way of that 3D Godzilla Imax movie we’ve been hearing about supposedly happening for years now remains to be seen.

In the meantime, enjoy this quite entertaining rap video as a helpful reminder as to why Godzilla remains such an iconic figure even after half a century.

I agree, aint gonna happen. And if it does, I’ll stomp Hollywood to the ground.

    It needed Shatner.

I have been dying for Hollywood to give G a second chance. But Toho is in no way interested in seeing him back on the silver screen in any country for at least another 5 years.

If done right, Godzilla in America has the potential to be amazing. just don’t see it happening.
