Reboot. Redux. Remake. Relax. It’s all the same crap, isn’t it? Entertainment Weekly got word tonight that a potential reboot of Wes Craven’s Scream franchise is in the works.
Writer/director Kevin Williamson is looking to take over the slasher torch Craven brandished so well in the mid-Nineties and turn his reboot into an entirely new trilogy of films.
EW further reports that Williamson has approached both David Arquette and Courteney Cox about returning to the franchise that he hopes will eventually be populated by some other familiar Scream faces.
No deals or contracts have been put into place yet, but things could begin moving as early as this fall. Stay tuned.
