Dread Central Gets Some New Blood

Man, it’s been one hell of a ride thus far, and things are only getting bigger and crazier. As Dread Central approaches its three-year anniversary(!) out here on our own, we wanted to take a second to make you guys aware of some new faces you’ll be seeing around these parts.
First and foremost we’re both proud and humbled to announce that Sean Decker, whom you may know from his work as a contributing writer for such horror magazines as Famous Monsters of Filmland, 1313 Magazine, and others, has officially signed on to become one of the Dread Central family.
Sean received best fiction awards from the Horror Writer’s Association and Spookycon for various works of short fiction before joining the Fangoria masthead in 2004 as the magazine’s West Coast field correspondent. Since then he’s traveled the country from production to production with his coverage appearing in the pages of Fangoria magazine as well as its online entity, Fangoria.com.
Sean is going to make a great addition around here, and I know you guys are gonna be mucho pleased with what he has to offer.
Joining Sean are some other very familiar names in this crazy thing we call online horror journalism, namely Erik Van Der Wolf and Elaine Lamkin. They’ve already started kickin’ a copious amount of ass for us, and having them aboard will add some new insight and diversity to our little slice of disturbed Net real estate.
We’d also like to officially welcome Heather Wixson and Matt Serafini to the mix as well, both of whom have been working with us for a while now and are no doubt up-and-coming stars in their own rights.
Not to worry — most of the staff you’ve all come to know and love are still in place and not going anywhere. We’re just going through a growth spurt and as a result needed a few more sets of hands to help shoulder the load.
One person who is missed, however, is Johnny Butane. For those of you who have been wondering where he has been, he decided it was in his best interest to step away from journalism for now. But we’re still in touch, and he is doing well. Johnny is, was, and always will be an integral part of our island of misfit toys. No one is taking his place because no one ever could. We love ya, brother!
That being said … thanks for sticking with us through thick and thin. It’s hard to believe it’s been three years already. Strap in, folks! The ride has just begun!
