It’s been a couple of months since we last mentioned the cinéma-vérité style film Cotton from Scott Spiegel, Boaz Yakin, and Eli Roth’s production company, Raw Nerve, but it seems as if there’s finally some movement to report on.
Over on the official Raw Nerve YouTube Page this spicy little wedge of info appeared:
“RAW NERVE and its sister company, BLUEFISH, will be starting production this February on first time directors Huck Botko and Andrew Gurland’s thriller, “COTTON”, featuring Liev Schreiber, John Heard, HOSTEL part 2’s Jordan Ladd, Lauren German and Roger Bart, SKIN’s Kathryn Erbe, 2001 MANIACS’ Lynn Shaye and Peter Stomare and COVE ROAD’s Lucy Matos, Lani Barry and BUD T. CHUD.”
There have been a few changes since this was originally posted (i.e., Botko and Gurland are no longer directing). In their place will be Daniel Stamm, who will be working from a story written by the no-longer directing duo. No word yet on whether or not the casting stays rock solid, but we’ll keep an eye on things for ya!
Cotton, tells the tale of an evangelical minister who turns his back on religion and agrees to be documented performing his last exorcism. More soon!
Heard from Eli Roth. The above casting news is totally bogus.
