Stephen King Praises New Streaming Thriller Series as “Perfect, nail-biting and believable”

A mysterious new series has landed, quickly catching the attention of horror fiction tycoon Stephen King. The psychological thriller Constellation, created by Peter Harness (Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell), had its first three episodes appear on Apple TV+ on February 21, gaining attention from genre fans and drama-bingers alike.
According to Apple, the paranoid thriller concerns Jo — “an astronaut who returns to Earth after a disaster in space — only to discover that key pieces of her life seem to be missing. The action-packed space adventure is an exploration of the dark edges of human psychology, and one woman’s desperate quest to expose the truth about the hidden history of space travel and recover all that she has lost.“
The new series stars Noomi Rapace, Jonathan Banks, James D’Arcy, and Barbara Sukowa. The project is based on an original concept by Sean Jablonski. Rapace is no newcomer to genre, having dominated previous thrillers like The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and the Alien spin-off Prometheus.
Stephen King seems to recommend the strange new series, but not without any reservations. He calls the first two episodes of Constellation “perfect” and “nail-biting” but wonders if the mysteries will be worth the time investment.

King isn’t the only one hyping up the space series. NPR said, “Watching Constellation takes commitment, patience, and attention, but you’ll be rewarded for that effort with a haunting story that, at its center, is about the love between a mother and a daughter.”
