Lucky McKee's controversial horror film The Woman is opening in limited theaters October 14th, but in the meantime we have a sneak peek of "Distracted", the first single from the film's soundtrack, available for you right now! The eerily calm, dark yet melodic and powerful song will be released tomorrow, September 15th, with the full soundtrack following soon after on October 1st from ModernCine.

Only a few short months ago during Montreal's Fantasia festival we reported that Andrew van den Houten, producer of The Girl Next Door, was set to begin shooting his adaptation of Jack Ketchum's cannibal killer sequel Offspring. Today we received word from van den Houten that the official trailer is live (see it below), and all the Offspring webisodes can be viewed at Modern Cine's YouTube channel.

Andrew van den Houten’s Offspring is pretty close to the top of my list for most anticipated adaptations of 2009. The Jack Ketchum book on which it’s based is one of my favorites, and this story has been a long time coming to the big screen!

It seems to me that the guys over at ModernCine really know when they’re doing when it comes to getting films done. Their production on The Girl Next Door was very quick, as was the cinema vérité Home Movie. Just a few months ago we got the first word on their adaptation of Jack Ketchum’s Offspring; now the film is done and ready for its first screenings!

The film's not going to be done until December, but they're making sure distributors are aware of it with the sales art you see on your right.

Those evil bastards over at Fangoria took a trip to the wilds of Michigan recently to check out the set of Andrew van den Houten’s Offspring, the latest Jack Ketchum adaptation to be filmed. As you can see the film is looking just as gory as we had hoped ... and then some!

Since 1989 Jack Ketchum's book The Girl Next Door has been sending shivers of repulsion up the spines of genre readers. The film version is set to start lensing next month in New Jersey, and Fangoria got word today on some casting news.

After years of suffering in turnaround and slipping through the hands of those who didn’t have the balls to see the film made as it should be, ModernCine has finally nabbed the rights to Jack Ketchum’s seminal novel, The Girl Next Door and plans to roll on the film right away.
