Back in July we learned about “True Blood” companion book Steve Newlin’s Field Guide to Vampires (And Other Creatures of Satan), and now that it’s been released, we have a few copies to give away along with news of a signing!
The signing begins at 6:00 PM on Monday, November 18th, at Book Soup, 8818 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood, CA; (310) 659‐3684. In attendance will be co-authors Michael McMilllian, who plays Steve Newlin on “True Blood” and is a writer for the numerous “True Blood” comics, and Gianna Sobol, an associate producer for “True Blood” who edits the “True Blood” comic series.
Additional “True Blood” cast members including Anna Camp (Steve’s vicious ex‐wife, Sarah Newlin) and Deborah Ann Woll (vampire Jessica Hamby) are also confirmed to attend.
Now, what if you live nowhere near LA? Don’t worry – we’ve got you covered with three copies of Steve Newlin’s Field Guide to Vampires up for grabs courtesy of Chronicle Books. To enter for your chance to win, just send us an E-MAIL HERE including your FULL NAME AND MAILING ADDRESS. We’ll take care of the rest.
The vampires, werewolves, faeries, and other supernatural creatures that call Bon Temps, Louisiana, home aren’t universally accepted around town. Sweet-talking, bible-thumping Steve Newlin is their self-appointed nemesis. In his demented field guide, Steve has recorded all he knows about these Creatures of Satan, and that’s a lot: their strengths, their weaknesses, their bylaws, and, of course, how to kill them.
Sadly for Steve—but luckily for “True Blood” fans everywhere—his journal was stolen by Fangtasia vampires Pam and Eric, who have defaced it in a most disrespectful and snarky manner. A cunningly produced facsimile, and a hilarious read, the Field Guide to Vampires is packed with untold insight into our favorite TV characters, along with photos, letters, postcards, handwritten notes, and Steve’s own idle doodles in a scrapbook that perfectly captures the tongue-in-cheek camp that makes “True Blood” the most widely watched show on HBO.

- FlixtheCat You're very kind.
- FlixtheCat I speculate that Sheri Moon takes up a lot more screen time than anyone else in the cast, there's a ton of chopped up lines that count as dialogue, an obnoxiously droning classic rock sound track, and...
- Rottenjesus I knew this was coming but it still sucks hearing they're cancelling this awesome show. Dare I hope Netflix steps in and saves it?
- Steven Millan I'm speculating that the new film takes the JEEEPERS CREEPERS 3 route in taking place either between THE DEVIL'S REJECTS and HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES or within the world of THE DEVIL'S REJECTS happening...
- Steven Millan I'm sure that Captain Spaulding,Otis B. Driftwood,Baby Firefly, and the rest of the Firefly Family clan are heavily partying over this news(since Ash would have came after them if they dared steal the...
