Now in its 41st year, Knott’s Scary Farm is California’s oldest and longest running haunted attraction. Every year since 1973 Knott’s has lowered a veil of darkness over the entire theme park and if you’re like us then you can’t wait to walk through those darkened streets in search of the thrills and chills that only Haunt can offer.

In case you missed it Elvira is BACK! Last year sell out crowds flocked to the Haunt Museum to meet Elvira during the 40th anniversary celebration of Haunt. This year Knott’s Scary Farm has teamed up with Elivra to bring her sexy brand of humor back to Haunt with Elvira’s Sinema Seance; a stage show not to be missed!

This year Knott’s also introduces the Fright Lane Skeleton Key. An industry first offering visitors who purchase this package admittance to special rooms in select mazes and interactive scare zones as well as front of the line access.

    New Mazes for 2013

    Black Magic
A spell binding encounter that takes it’s patrons and plunges them into the ruins of an old run down theater haunted by evil spirits as well as the undead headliner Harry Houdini who has returned from the beyond.

    Forever More
A modernized vision of Edgar Allen Poe’s gruesome noirish tales in prose. Visitors of Forever More will find themselves stalked by a serial killer who offs his victims in the style of Poe’s famous works.

    The Gunslinger’s Grave
Ride out on a bloody trail of revenge as you follow in the footsteps of a gunslinger facing down a corrupt mayor and his henchmen in the Old West.

    Mirror, Mirror
Gaze into the Green Witch’s cursed mirror and find yourself transported to a hellish steampunk nightmare in this mirror maze brand new for 2013.

    Redesigned frights for 2013

    Dominion of the Damned
Brought back to life for the 40th anniversary in 2012 this fan favorite attraction, Dominion of the Damned, returns with a little more gore and a gruesome gothic theme.

    Trapped: The New Experiment
Those lucky enough to escape Trapped last year know that this is a maze that does not mess around. Trapped is an interactive nightmare not for the faint of heart. This attraction requires a seperate ticket to enter for a six person group but is well worth the $60 group price.

Returning Mazes include: Delirium, Endgames, Pinocchio Unstrung, Trick or Treat, Uncle Willy’s Slaughterhouse, and The Witch’s Keep hidden deep in the Calico Mine ride.

Get Weaponized – Enter Now to Win a Copy of this Dystopian Horror Novel

A few days ago we brought you an exclusive except from Zac Thompson’s dystopian horror novel Weaponized, and with the book’s Halloween release date fast approaching, we’re back with one more reminder… and a chance for you to score a copy for yourself!

Weaponized was the winner of the 2016 Crypt TV horror fiction contest. For fans of Clive Barker, David Cronenberg, and films like It Follows, Weaponized is a Kafka-esque Eighties throwback horror novel that subverts the slasher genre with a refreshing take on body horror and the twisted, violent, burgeoning sexuality that underpins the genre. It is Thompson’s debut novel.

To enter for your chance to win, just send an email to including your FULL NAME AND MAILING ADDRESS along with “Weaponized” in your subject line.

This contest will end at 11:59 PM PT on October 20, 2017 – so act quickly! Note: This contest is open to U.S. residents only. By entering this contest, you are consenting to allow Dread Central and its subsidiaries use of your email address.

Also, don’t forget about the contest we’re co-sponsoring with Inkshares to find the next great horror authors – just a few more weeks remain!

Truog Island is a desolate place where sexual activity is outlawed. There lives Trip Yash, bored out of his mind. That was, until he met Cron…

After a night of passion, Cron disappears, taking Trip’s virginity with him. A few days later Trip develops a rash on his hand that eventually blooms into a gun made from his own flesh. It’s not long before Trip becomes a living weapon locked in a battle against an ancient virus that threatens to ruin his island home. As his body continues to change, terrifying forces emerge with the power to weaponize the dead.

Weaponized is a nerve-shattering exploration of sexual identity and people’s strange relationship with tools of death. It is a Kafka-esque horror take on sexual orientation and sexually transmitted infections and how we villainize those who are different.
