Agnes Bruckner
Yet another genre film has scored distribution at this year's Sundance Film Festival as news has just broken that IFC Midnight has taken the rights for The Pact (review here)!
Starring Agnes Bruckner, Caity Lotz, Casper Van Dien, Haley Hudson
Directed by Nicholas McCarthy
Last night Nicholas McCarthy's The Pact made its debut at the Sundance Film Festival (review coming soon), and today we sunk our claws into a teaser for the flick! Check out the spookery!
It's like the rest of the world is finally waking up and realizing that horror is a hot and legit commodity. Oh, who are we kidding? No matter what we do or how much cash we generate at the box office, we'll always be considered the red-headed stepchild of the biz.
Making its debut at next year's Sundance Film Festival is writer/director Nicholas McCarthy's ghoulish new ghost story The Pact, and we've scored you horror-hungry folks a new still that will have you wide-eyed and staring. Check it out!
We haven't reported on Breaking the Girl for a while now, but the film is finished and the troubled waters are now calm. In terms of casting the flick has been a bit of a revolving door. Read on to play catch-up with us!
While most sites were content with giving you a postage stamp-sized look at the new teaser one-sheet for The Pact, we decided to wait until we could get you cats a really good look at this sweet retro one-sheet! Dig it!
Well now. That was fast. We told you about Nicholas McCarthy making his feature film debut on The Pact, a full-length version of his short film that premiered at this past January's Sundance Film Festival, just a couple of weeks ago; and word has now come that it's officially finished.
We're always rooting for the indie filmmaker here at Dread Central, and it's good to see a filmmaker release a short film that's so well received that it gets turned into a feature with a big named cast.
We first we reported on Kill Theory many, many moons ago, and unfortunately the project is still in limbo over at Lionsgate. Thankfully that hasn't stopped an exclusive clip from appearing online.
Ack, college kids. Celebrating. Maniac killer. What more do you need to know about Kill Theory to make it sound more uninteresting? Hopefully Chris Moore did something fresh, or at least fun, with his debut, which has been in the wings for months now.
During a quick visit over to the place where film conversations go to die ( IMDB), I saw that last year's motel horror pic Vacancy (review) is receiving a second serving.
Though I can’t say it’s number one on our list of most anticipated movies, I will admit to a morbid curiosity regarding Chris Moore’s Kill Theory (formerly Last Resort/Killers). If nothing else it’ll be a chance to stare at Agnes Brucker for 90 minutes again.
Finally, a producer is stepping behind the camera to shoot a movie and see what it’s really like on the other side, especially the part about being yelled at by producers.
Specifically I refer to Chris Moore, the taller producer who would show up from time to time to make John Gulager’s life hellish during “Project Greenlight.” Moore has signed a deal to direct Killers, described as a horror/action movie, with Element, Lift, and Benderspink producing. That’s a lot of producers to do the yelling!
