Silent Night, Deadly Podcast: Ep15 – SINT (2010)

You asked for it, Bill Goldberg asked for it, Krampus asked for it, and now Dread Central is proud to present the year-round Christmas horror podcast you’ve long been waiting for…Silent Night, Deadly Podcast! Chris, Kieran, Matt and Rob – collectively known as “The Jingle Boys” – are prepared to take you on one demented journey through a winter wonderland of the best and worst tinsel terror the big (and small) screen has to offer.

This week, the Jingle Boys travel to Amsterdam for space cakes and killer St. Nicholas. Dick Maas’ Sint (2010) is as mean-spirited and festively ferocious as the best Christmas slashers. You can currently watch the film on Hulu, but if you do, make sure to select the version with subtitles and not the English dub. As one of the boys found out, the overdub isn’t half as effective as the original version. Not a watch by choice, but one that confirms why you should never pick the overdub when subtitled versions exist.

In a surprise turn of events, the one Jingle Boy who’s always down for an Xmas slasher finds issues with Sint. Surely that’s not Rob, who can’t get enough of the child endangerment in Maas’ bloody December reanimator. Between Kieran, Chris, and Matt, listen to find out who outs themselves as an outlier. Sint is a favorite holiday treat for most, but a missed opportunity for others. Where does your opinion fall?
