Here’s a true story for you. When I was 9 years old in 1981, I conned my mom into taking me to see Friday the 13th Part 2 at the Kingsway Theatre in Brooklyn, NY. I was feeling pretty brave, you know? Anyway, once we got to the ice pick through the skull part within the opening ten minutes, I was scared shitless. Thankfully, Caveman was playing right next door so my mother pulled me from the theatre and we went and had some laughs with dinosaurs instead.

Needless to say, I hold that movie in high regard, and now it’s officially on its way to Blu-ray via Olive Films.

Ringo Starr, Shelley Long, Dennis Quaid, and Barbara Bach all starred in the Carl Gotlieb-directed film. Look for it in stores on February 17, 2015!

Synopsis:
The Beatles’ Ringo Starr is Atouk, the caveman of the title. As the leader of a rag-tag group of cavemen considered inferior by a larger group of cavemen, Atouk has his work cut out for him when he sets his sights on the beautiful Lana (Barbara Bach). Trouble is… Lana belongs to Tonda (John Matuszak), the leader of the “superior” cavemen. Undeterred, Atouk sets out to win Lana’s hand while being pursued by the caveman-crazy Tala (Shelley Long) and fending off some very hungry dinosaurs.
