SDCC 08: Friday the 13th Teaser Description!
Uncle Creepy just called in from Comic Con with a full description of the Friday the 13th teaser, which made a surprise debut at the show. On the right you can also see a first look at the remake poster, which is suitably creepy and cool. Ready for the description? Here we go…
The footage opens with a couple finding the sign for Camp Crystal Lake. Shortly thereafter they come across an abandoned cabin. Of course they have to investigate, and inside they find a child’s bed with “Jason” written on the headboard.
They discover an alter full of candles with a hole in the wall behind it. Because he’s a stupid kid, the man reaches his hand into the hole. He grabs what he thinks is a doll’s head but is, of course, a severed head. Creepy said it wasn’t clear if this was Mrs. Voorhees’ head or not.
The guy drops the head just as a machete comes up through the floor, hitting him in the ankle and making him fall, at which point the machete goes through his hand. Now injured and on the floor, two arms pop up and start dragging him down. His girl tries to help him out but it’s no use. Fade to black as the girl whimpers in terror.
Cut to a montage of kills, including an impaling and Jason’s silhouette behind a pair of campers, his shadow being cast by police officers’ flashlights, and what I’m guessing is a classic shot of Jason leaping through a window. Finally we have Jason running at a victim at an insane speed, which Creepy called “a freight train of terror”, raising his machete, and the title slams onto the screen.
Sounds pretty badass, no? Creepy said that, indeed, it looked amazing … Hopefully we’ll see it online sooner rather than later, stay tuned!
